Corrupt mailbox in Exchange 2003.  Troubleshooting?
I believe I have narrowed a problem with Active Sync to a corrupt user mailbox and need some troubleshooting guidance. While the symptoms are specific to Active Sync, I don't believe it is a Mobility Forum question (I have scoured it) but is releated to a corrupted user mailbox. Here are the details ... My wife's company has a Small Business Server 2003 (I'm the sysadmin) that is all up-to-date and running perfectly, except for the isolated Active Sync issue. I configured the server for Active Sync and my wife was successfully syncing her Droid 2 phone fine for a couple of months without any problems until a couple of weeks ago at which time her phone began displaying an "account access" error (that's all I detail I get from the phone) with no syncing taking place. I have a Droid X that continiues to successfully sync with my account on the server. I have configured her phone to access that account and it too works perfectly, getting e-mail, contacts, and calendar data. But I cannot access her Exchange account on the server from my phone, getting the same "account access" error message. Both phones can successfully sync with my Exchange 2007 server as well, so it's not phone related and only her account on the 2003 SBS server is dysfunctional. A great deal of testing indicates that the problem is specific to her Exchange account/mailbox. She was syncing e-mail, contacts, and calendar, but in my testing I have isolated the sync to e-mail only so as to bypass any contact or calendar-specific errors to no avail. It just no longer works. All other functions work perfectly for her. She uses Outlook 2010 locally all day long without any problems. OWA and RDP both work fine as do all Outlook functions. No other users on the system are experiencing any Exchange-related problems. There have been no changes to the system or any user accounts. There are no event log errors, even after unsuccessful sync attempts. The system is apparently a happy camper, at least it thinks so. It appears that there is some sort of corruption with her mailbox. Any suggestions for troubleshooting tasks/tools that can isolate and/or confirm the problem and lead to a fix? I'm hesitant to perform any system-wide surgery as hers is an accounting firm and they are deep in the throes of Tax Season. I'd prefer to tread as lightly as possible but need some guidance about next steps to troubleshoot and solve her isolated problem. Thanks in advance for any help with this little conundrum.

Exchange 2003 SP2 has this: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2005/07/07/407416.aspx You could try deleting the partnership from the mailbox and then syncing the phone. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
